Self-Advocacy Without Words

[SARN Memo for May 19, 2010]

Self-advocacy is about speaking up for yourself. In our groups, we practice speaking out. Yet many groups have members who do not use words to communicate.

How does your group include people who do not use words? How does our movement include them? How could this Memo be more inclusive? How could we all do better?

Please reply to this e-mail and share your experience, thoughts, hopes and dreams. Self-advocacy will be stronger when we include everyone.

One minor suggestion would be to have the option to have the text of the emails in a larger and bolder font. Thanks!!
