Key Idea: Ordinary Folks Can Do Great Things

[SARN Memo for February 1, 2012]

An idea has a lot of power. It can lead to big changes. Often, a leader is someone with a big idea that guides him or her.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most well-known leader of the civil rights movement. One of his central ideas was the power of ordinary people to do great things. He said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.... You don’t have to know about Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve.... You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”
